MINISTER MILA HARRIS' BIO

Minister Mila Harris was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. After living there for many years, she moved to Stuttgart, Germany. After spending a few years there she then journeyed to Tampa, Florida. Life took a turn in 2001 – 2002 allowing her to embark upon new territory and again she relocated to Montclair, California and has lived in the Inland Empire ever since.

Minister Mila has been raised under the Apostolic doctrine. She grew up singing in her local church and school choirs. Minister Mila has a great mentor, her father Elder Wayne Harris, Sr., who was the Musical Director for many years at Bethel Tabernacle in Indianapolis, Indiana and is now the Pastor of Christian Tabernacle in Evansville, Indiana.

Minister Mila began living for God and serving Him at a very early age, but received her official Ministers License in 2008. She was called to begin ministering in 1998 while living in Germany at the COGIC chapel service on the US Marine Corps Base Panzer Kasern. While there she was a soloist, choir director and played the drums. After ministering in Germany she moved to Tampa, Florida. When she found a church home she was asked to oversee the youth choir. During her stay in Tampa she conducted workshops for various local ministries. In 2002 she began visiting California and eventually relocated. Minister Mila began visiting a few of the local Pentecostal churches, with Shield of Faith being the church that captured her spirit and became a member under Bishop Henry B. Alexander. With the mind set that she just wanted to be fed spiritually, God had more in mind for her. She was asked to be the choir director over the SOF Mass Choir, worship team member and lead, as well as choir director for the church youth choir, Greater Works.

While ministering within Shield of Faith Pomona she was asked to create a Regional Choir. Thus the LA Metro Regional Choir was formed. God continued to show His Favor as she was asked to move forward in ministry with the new assignment as the National Music Director for the Shield of Faith Fellowship. Minister Mila believes in ministering through music in all facets to encourage young and old to worship in spirit and in truth. She also believes in the vision of our Bishop Alexander and she is just a willing vessel to be used by God. She says “I thank God for choosing me. Since He called me to minister, I’m going to give Him my all and let NOTHING separate me from my praise! Praise is War Fare. Praise has kept me through the most difficult times in life. I have a yet Praise!”
